Sore and tired but well in the Swamp

Hey all from the Swamp

I am writing for Cornbread. He is just to sore and worn out to type LOL. He started his new job on Monday. Our friend R has a tile business and was looking for help. He talked to Cornbread and knowing his limitations with his health offered him a job. The hours aren't bad and NO NIGHTS.

He was going to try and work part-time at the bar but his old boss choose to go with someone full time. I think it was a relief when he came home on Tuesday and realised he did not have to work that night. He is sore as hell and he is in bed most nights at 8:00 PM or so. He seems happy albeit sore and tired.

I am still looking for a job but have not had allot of luck. I will find out Sunday if I got the Extension that President Bush just signed. We are busy making final plans for the wedding in October. I forgot how much there is to planning one.

Weekend in the swamp

Hey Y'all,
It's Sunday and I took K to work a little while ago. Yesterday I was gone all day to a big party with the club out of town. It was hot and sweaty. Then we got rained on. We still had a good time thou. I took Friday and Saturday night off.

I will be starting a new job on Monday. I am going to try working part time at the bar if my boss will let me. He is hiring in a guy in my spot at the bar, but there may be some days left that I can work. My new job is with a friend of mine and C's. I will be helping him lay ceramic tile. It will be a lot more physical than what I am use to. I should have most weekends off unless we have a big job to do. I will be working on a 1099 so I will have to lay some money aside for taxes. I am not use to that. I am looking forwards to my new job thou.

C still hasn't had any luck finding a job. Her unemployment runs out this week. I'm not shure what we are going to do. Keep us in your prayers.

C, Me, K and the cats

Hey Y'all,
I have totally been ignoring the computer for awhile now. C and I laid down but we can't sleep so C suggested I come update my blog since I haven't done it in awhile.

We had C's 50th birthday party at the bar Sunday night. She had a blast. There were food and friends and a good time to be had by all. I got to sing happy birthday to her. I gave her her presents. A blue topaz ring and a blue topaz pendant and gold chain. She got a lot of other presents and cards. Her actual birthday is Thursday the 24th. K and I are going to do something for her then during the day before I go to work.

C and Drove into the big city today and I picked up her present for Thursday. She was waiting in the truck for me and saw the package so she has a good idea what it is. I can hardly wait to give it to her. We really don't have the money to spend that I have spent. The way I look at it is, It's not everyday someone turns 50. I want it to be special.

Molly has jumped up here with me wanting to be petted. I can't see the key board with her sitting on my chest and purring. Lol.

C is having a hell of a time finding a wedding dress that she likes that we can afford. She doesn't want to wear white because it's not appropriate since she has been married twice before. Black looks really good on her but not to get married in. Is there any opinions on a bride in black? Leave them in the comments. What do you think?

K is working a lot of hours. She is having boyfriend problems too. She has a lot on her plate. School will be starting soon and she will be a senior.

Swamp

Hey Y'all,
C is taking a nap. I have to wake her in a few hours. K has gone to work.

We had the 2 year anniversary party at the bar Wednesday. Two years of that place being open has gone by fast. C and I threw darts with some of our friends. We had a good time.

C went out with our friend looking and trying on wedding dresses. Her friend is going to make one for her. They had a blast.

I don't have any particularly exciting news to report this week. We are waiting for some parts to come in to fix C's car. It's expensive but she needs to be able to roll her drivers side window up and down.

Tonite we have club church. Tomorrow C is going out of town to help with another chapters annual party. I will be home because I have to work.

Hot afternoon at the swamp

Hey Y'all,
C Just got back from a job interview. She has another one tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed.

I was supposed to go see dad today but wasn't feeling up to it. C and I sat up talking till 4 this morning about our wedding plans. I got up at 11 this morning. C fixed us pancakes and sausage. After that I laid back down and caught a nap. Before I laid down we caught Molly eating some left over sausage we left on the table.

We are giving Monkey the eye ointment the vet gave us and both cats the pills he gave us to get rid of their parasites. They have tapeworms, hookworms and cocidia. Monkey has conjunctivitis. We have to take them back for a second deworming in three weeks.

Smokin' cigs in the swamp

Hey Y'all!
I'm sittin' here puffing on a cheap cigarette. Just got back from the bar. We met some friends down there so C could throw some darts. I gave C one of her birthday presents today. A hard sided dart case. The plastic one she has is just plain hard to use. I got her another present today that I am keeping secret until we have her birthday party on the 20th. I picked up her wedding ring today. It came back from being re sized. With her engagement ring it looks beautiful.

It doesn't look like we are going to have as much money to put towards the wedding as we planned. I know things will work out when the time comes. We may have to scale back a little. We aren't having a extravagant wedding. Just simple.

C is melting some candle wax to make candles in the kitchen. I think I am going to go in and watch her.

Sounds from the swamp

Hey Y'all!
I just got off work a little while ago. It is the wee hours of the morning. We had a weird crowd. Drunk chicks, a guy coming out of his clothes on the dance floor. Someone skipped out on a tab. I got to run off a drug dealer. My old partner was back for the night, so we got to catch up.

I got C one of her birthday presents today. I really hope she likes it. I hope she doesn't find it and spoil it before her birthday on the 24th. She will be the big 5-0. It's amazing because she looks nowhere near her age. I am looking forwards to spending the rest of my life with her.

C cut my hair today. It needed it badly. I was turning into mop top. She did a fantastic job.

Good morning from swamp central

Hey Y'all!
I had a moment to post. Just got up and nobody was on the computer. C is on the way back from my dads house.

C went out to my dads house to meet the A/C repairman. Dads A/C has been blowing hot air. Come to find out he has a leak in the coil. Only problem is it's a aluminum coil and can't be repaired. The unit was put in in 1983. It's so old that there are not replacement parts for it. Dad is probably looking at getting a whole new unit. The repair guy filled it up with refrigerant and we are going to see how it does. If it goes out again in a short period of time then dad will have to get the new unit.

I have to go into work tonite after having last night off. We had a employee meeting yesterday. The liquor prices are going up but beer is remaining the same. Our new cook is going to be doing some major changes to the menu and hopefully that will bring some business in.

Monkey and Molly are doing fine. Molly is up in my lap for a visit as I am typing this. Molly seems to be getting a little bigger than monkey. They both seem healthy and active. I know they both eat because I have seen them eating.

Been awhile

Hey Y'all
I haven't been on the computer so I haven't posted.

I went to meet with the surgeons at the V.A. and got a reprieve. They put my surgery off for 2 months. They are going to wait and see if I have anymore problems. Hopefully I can talk them out of the surgery all together. We will just have to see. They want to take out all of my sigmoid and some of my left colon.

While we up at the V.A. we stopped by a pawn shop up there. We have been looking for a nice engagement ring for C. We have been at it for about a month and haven't found anything we could afford that we liked. We were wore out with only about 2 hours of sleep and dealing with the V.A. all day and just wanted to go home. C and I talked about it and deiced we would find a pawn shop to go by up there. We found one on a fluke. We looked at rings and found one that is .65 carat or 5/8. It was miss marked at 399.95. We liked it and bought it. We got a great deal because it is about a 800 dollar ring at the pawn shops here were we are from. C really likes it. It is a 14kt white gold solitaire. We rolled my change yesterday and pawned my rings and C pawned her rings. We stopped by another another pawn shop and found a wedding ring that is perfect for the ring we bought. A perfect matching set. We got it for 235 bucks. It is being sized by the pawn shop for free. We took the money we had left over and bought groceries and put some money in the bank and our pockets. Things are starting to come together.

K broke up with her boyfriend and regrets it. She wants him back and is trying to work things out. There has been a lot of crying and drama going on around here because of it. She broke up with him on a fluke and is learning a hard lesson. I don't know if they will get back together or not. I hope they will because I think well of him. He came down and mowed our grass yesterday and then came back later and talked to her. Things are still on edge thou.

C is doing well and being a great mother and fiance to K and I. She is still looking for a job but hasn't found anything yet. Soon unemployment will be running out. Keep us in your prayers about that.

Monkey and Molly are doing well and growing. Molly was being particularly affectionate this morning. K has 2 of her friends over for a sleep over. Molly was jumping up and curling up in the girls laps and letting them pet her. Monkey is always affectionate and is right there in the middle of things.

I guess what I am trying to say is we are doing well.
