Short post

Hey Y'all,

I didn't do much Wednesday. C had a job interview. We won't know anything about it till the end of next week.

I have been taking it easy and getting over being sick. I still don't feel like doing much, but I do feel a whole lot better.

Better here

Hey Y'all,

We are getting over being sick around here. K went to her college classes today. I have been feeling a little crappy still, but I am better. I still have a cold. I am over the worst of it and well on my way to the road of recovery. C has been doing good so far, knock on wood. She is the only one who hasn't got sick.

Not a lot of news to tell. Just living life and being home bodies.

Well Y'all, I'm not a 100% well and this is making me tired. I'm gonna get off here.

Been sick

Hey Y'all,

I haven't posted because I just ain't felt up to it till tonight. I am sick, K is sick and we are hoping C doesn't get sick. Last night I was throwing up and had the chills, was dizzy and weak. Today I have a sore throat and a cough and feel like crap. K went to the ER this morning. She got a couple of IV's and some medicine. I don't have insurance so I had to do it the old fashioned way and just deal with it. If I was able to last night, I would have went to the ER. I could not get up out of my chair I was so weak for a couple of hours last night. Walking to the bathroom was a big effort. Today I haven't felt like doing much. I am improving but still sick.

K is slowly getting better. I think the trip to the ER this morning helped her out. She is coughing a lot still and is not really able to eat much. She is holding some popcorn down right now. She is scarred to eat much because she doesn't know if she can hold food down yet.

I don't know when I will post next. If I feel up to it tomorrow, I will.

Rainy Day

Hey Y'all,

It was a rainy, lazy day. Neither one of us did much today. We had homemade patted out grilled hamburgers with seasoned fries for supper tonight. That was the biggest thing we did today. I did a lot of sleeping and so did C.

The rain stopped this afternoon late. That's how we were able to grill the hamburgers.

Well I don't have much to tell. I still ain't smoking no cigarettes. I ain't going to lie, there are times when I really want one bad. I know if I fire one up, it is over and I will be right back to where I was before. So I don't.

Wednesday at the swamp

Hey Y'all,

I am sitting here at the computer, relaxing. I have not done much today. Mostly took it easy. I got out a couple of times to go to the grocery store..

A friend of mine came over today and installed a new thermostat for my heat/air conditioner. It seems to be working good. We are still learning how to use it. The old one that was malfunctioning was a simple mechanical one. The new one is solid state and has a lot of functions.

K has been helping my niece. My niece has a bum foot right now. They sound like they are having fun hanging out together.

J is back up in North Ga. With P the Grand Baby. We miss him, but we are enjoying the house being quiet. We are looking forwards to seeing them in a couple of weeks. P is going to be Christened on the 31st.

Windy day at the swamp

Hey Y'all,

It was a windy day today here at the house. We had a bunch of our friends over tonight for supper. C made chicken and dumpling soup. It was great. Everybody got to sit around and chat after supper. One of my friends and I sat in the living room and caught a nap.

Later on we got the kitchen cleaned up and now we are just relaxing. C is watching the grand baby while J makes some snacks. She will probably be going back Tuesday.

I am now 4 days without a cigarette. So far it's going good. I just can't afford to smoke anymore. I can pay a lot of my bills with what I spend on cigarettes every month. When I was smoking I was up to 3 packs or more a day. At 26 bucks for a carton of 10 packs, you can do the math. I figure I was spending between 50-75 bucks a week for smokes. That's a minimum of 200 bucks a month. I guarantee it was more than 200 a month.

Rainy night in Georgia

Hey Y'all,

It's been a rainy day all day and tonight here in south Ga.

I was having problems earlier. I was short of breath and my heart was pounding real hard with my chest kinda tight. C was real worried about me. We called and EMS came out and checked me out. The only thing they could really find wrong with me was I was retaining fluid and my blood sugar was over 500. I refused medical help. They were wanting me to go to the hospital and I don't have insurance. C and I took off to go to Augusta to the VA in my truck. I realized about half way there, all they would do for me is give me insulin and lasik. Something I could do myself at home. We turned around and came back. I am doing just fine.

We are relaxing and taking it easy. P, the grand baby is awake and keeping us busy. He's a little fussy.

Friday post

Hey Y'all,

We had someone come out and look at the house today. It sounds promising. I ain't counting my chickens before they hatch.

J made it in tonight. P was glad to see her. He would quiet down when she would hold him. We are glad to see her. We are both tired, especially C. We both need a good night of rest. It has been a joy having the grand baby here. Even thou he tires us out we have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thursday post

I haven't been posting a lot. The grand baby has been keeping us busy. I am tired when I get to sit down at the computer and just don't post. We have enjoyed having the grand baby here, But it will be good to send him back home this weekend so we can catch up on some rest.

Back Home

Hey Y'all,

We are Back home from North Ga and the mountains. We got in last night around 2200 or so.

We had a blast up there. Got to see a lot of sights and visit with friends. We went over the top of a mountain road that was closed and got to see a guy climbing ice that had formed. C has pics up on facebook.

We brought the grand baby back with us. He slept almost all the way home. He didn't wake up until we were within a mile from the house. We have been enjoying having him here. Grandma is wore out and sleeps when she can. I have been doing the same. Amazingly he slept last night for 4 hours after that long ride home. He is a snoozer, takes after grandpa :-)

Warm day at the swamp

Hey Y'all,

It warmed up into the 50's today. It's 41 degrees right now as I type this. It's not going to be as cold tonight as it has been being.

There is snow up in North Ga where we go all the time. We are going up there this weekend, but will probably miss the snow. We will be staying with our friends Ch and A. It promises to be a good time up there. We are supposed to bring the grand baby, P back with us for a few days.

Chillin' in the swamp

Hey Y'all,

Today I mostly stayed in the house. I only got out once and that was to go to the grocery store.
It got into the mid 40's today. right now as I type this it's 25 degrees.

C made a big ol pot of chili tonight for supper. It was perfect for this cold weather. We have been relaxing at the house since supper.

C has a job interview tomorrow morning. We are keeping our fingers crossed she can land this one. If she doesn't she is talking about going back to school. Maybe that will help her get a job in the future.

Another Cold one in the swamp

Hey Y'all,

It is cold here again tonight/ this morning. Right now it is 27 degrees at 0450.

I did some running around today and came home to a big ol' pot of sauerkraut and sausage. I had a plateful. It was delicious. Later on C and I went to a restaurant to meet up with everybody for a club meeting. Everyone forgot, except us! We had a nice supper and came home.

I have been up all night. I will have to get to sleep sometime soon. I guess i will see how much sleep I get. I usually can't sleep over 4 or 5 hours.

Cold in the swamp

Hey Y'all,

It has been cold here most of the day. Right now tonight it's 28 and dropping. C and I got out and looked for her a new coat. We didn't have any luck. All of the places we went were sold out from the holidays.

We went over to South Carolina and picked up a few cartons of cigarettes. On the way back home we stopped at a restaurant and had supper.

We are now home and chillaxin. Not doing much of nothing.

Back from the mountains

Hey Y'all,
I got back from Helen Ga this evening. It was nice up there and I had a good time. C stayed home with K. I talked to C at midnight when the ball dropped on T.V.

I went to the auction Thursday and Friday night. Friday night my friends Ch and A went up there to the auction with me.

I had a good time visiting with everybody, especially Ch and A. We don't get see them as much as we use to when we go up there. It was really nice to go to their house and sit around and smoke cigarettes, drink sweet tea and chat. A fixed us our good luck new years food Friday before we went to the auction. We had black eyed peas, greens, and pork roast. It was great!

The law was bad on the road today on the trip back. Ga. has this new super speeder law in effect Jan. 1. The fines are steeper for speeding. I guess good ole' Johnny law couldn't wait to try it out and write a few tickets.
