Hey There!!!

Right now I am waiting on a load of clothes to finish drying so I can go to wall mart. I want to buy a small crock pot I can fix myself some dinner in it. The one my mother left here at the house is way too big and is over 20 years old.

Dad doesn't allow me to cook at the house when he is here. I think he is afraid something will get left on and burn the house down. He has gotten parinoid in his old age. We always have eaten out. With dad gone I have been buying frozen food and heating it up in the oven or used the stove top to do stuff like boil eggs. I am going to start back cooking for myself some because it is cheaper and a whole lot better in many ways. It has been a long time since I have cooked for myself and I will have to teach myself how to cook again. I worked in a bar as a cook for several years awhile back but that is a whole lot different than cooking for myself. I haven't actually cooked a whole dinner for myself since back in the 90's. I have watched C cook stuff in a slow cooker and it was really killer. (in a good way) I think it would be a good way for me to start. I have never used a slow cooker before. I did have a pressure cooker once (in a past life) but it got turned into a still. ( I'll tell ya about that one day)

I caught another cold. I have been doctoring myself with some of the medicine from the V.A. left over from the last time I was sick, plus BC powders and "airborne" the immune system booster. I had a bad night last night but am better today. I am still taking it somewhat easy and resting so I can get well enough to go to work tommorow.

We had a meeting with the nursing home staff today. My aunt was there too. Dad didn't voice many complaints. The biggest one was that his matress on his bed was a little uncomfortable to him. They are going to see about getting him a new matress. Dad has been eating well and the food looks really good. The lady who runs the kitchen was there and he complimented her on the food. I am glad he is eating right. He also gets exersize. Thats two things he wasn't getting at home and I am certain it was playing a major part in him going down hill. He looks so much more healthy since he has been there at the nursing home. The activities director told dad they were having a valentines day dance and made dad promise her the first dance. She said they do wheel chair dancing there at the nursing home. I guess dad still knows how to charm the ladies.

I am not shure if I am going to get to see C on my next days off or not. We are both kind of strapped for cash right now and trying to save money. All I know is that I miss her so much. I wish she lived down her or I lived up there. Thank God for cell phones and affordable plans so I can talk to her whenever I want. Abscence makes the heart fond. I guess being away from each other makes it so much better when we do get to see each other. We rarely fight or take our time for granted. I am hopelessly in love. (Visulize puppy dog eyes-thats me.)

Well I guess thats about it for now. I am having fun zapping the spammers when they hit my archives. It's almost like a game.

I just heard the dryer shut off so I am outta here!!! Wally world, here I come!!!
