Relaxing day

Hey Y'all,

We didn't go by the house today. My friend who is doing the work over there called me today to see why I hadn't showed up LOL. I slept in late and we had some things going on with the older step daughter.

After we got free we went around doing some shopping for stuff for the house. We didn't end up buying anything until we went to wal mart. We picked up some groceries for the apartment. C has been feeling weary today. I think it's the heat. It is so hot up here. It is unusually hot for this time of year up here. I will be glad when fall gets here. I don't do too well with the heat myself.

Boogity Boogity Boogity

Hey Y'all,

Monday the carpet was installed and it looks great! We got a great deal from Lowe's and saved a lot. We had to pick out a different refrigerator from home depot because the one we were getting doesn't go into production till next month and we couldn't get it till the middle of next month if everything went right. Our friend who is acting as contractor is going to cut down the cabinets so we can fit a bigger fridge in there. We actually save a couple hundred bucks plus by getting the bigger fridge instead of the special order fridge. Cool with me! LOL!

There is a lot of work left to be done on our new place, but it is coming together. I know that when it hits a certain point it will seem that things will pick up. It's just that things have been coordinated around certain events in the schedule. We weren't originally planning on replacing the carpets in the bedrooms. Now I am glad we did. We found some friends of our daughter that knew the people that lived there before. They had pets that were not house broken. We were going to have the carpets cleaned. When we removed them there were stains underneath and a terrible pet odor down in the padding. We put down Lysol and treated the sub floor with that to kill germs and get rid of the odors.

This remodel is going to make our place just the way we want it. We have so much to do after it is complete and we move in. It should keep us busy for awhile. It will be sometime in the middle of next month or maybe a few days less before we can move in. C is very ready to move in and so am I. We are tired of living at this tiny efficiency apartment. I realize that it is going to happen in it's due time. I am mentally prepared to wait a few more weeks maybe almost a month.

Well Y'all the light is keeping C awake. I am going to crash myself. It's almost 0230 in the morning.

Hey Y'all

It's been awhile since I posted. The house is still being worked on. The bedrooms have been painted. The carpet goes in Monday in the bedrooms. The tub in the master is on the way to being put in. our contractor is working away.

C and I are doing well. just busy all the time it seems lately.

I don't know what else there is to tell. Just busy as a one armed paper hanger.

No longer homeless

Hey Y'all,
We closed on the new house on Wednesday. The repairs and remodeling has begun and will take about a month or a little less. We have a friend of ours who is going to do the remodeling. He is a great guy and a good contractor.

Our new home is a double wide. 30'X70'. 2100 sq. feet. 4 bedroom 3 bath. office, living room, family room, kitchen, mud/laundry room. It's manufactured by fleetwood, which is a top of the line company.

Our lot is not very big, but big enough for us. It has a fenced in back yard that is pretty big. The overall lot size is .56 acre. Just over a half a acre. That is a big change from the 6 acres I owned in south Ga. that I sold.

We got the electricity turned on Wednesday and the water turned on Thursday. Everything seems to be working fine including the air conditioning. There are repairs to be made to the plumbing like faucets and one of the toilets and shower heads. There are some minor electrical repairs to be done also.

We are happy to be able to say we now own this home. We will be glad when the work is done and we can move into it. It is getting work done on it from ceiling to floor in all rooms.

Better today

Hey Y'all,

I am feeling better today. I am not out of the woods yet but I have took a turn for the better with this cold. I stayed up till 0400 this morning. We got up and later on and we found out we have a closing date! Next Wednesday!!

We went out to Lowe's and looked at light fixtures and ceiling fans. We had our grandson with us and he was cranky because he is sick. Our daughter decided to wait till later to take him to the doctor. We came on home and waited till our daughter came here to pick him up.

He's gone and we are relaxing in our little cubbie hole. It close quarters I am glad C and I love each other. C is such a sweet person. She makes things nice for us here.

Been sick

Hey Y'all,

I have been sick with a summer time cold. Our grandson is sick with it too. I spent the day on the couch today. I got up this evening and went to supper with our daughter and her friend and her friends husband who are visiting on their way to Florida. We went to have Mexican for supper. We took the grand baby for a little while so our daughter could hang out with her friends.

We are relaxing at the apartment right now. Our daughter came and picked up our grand son earlier. I don't know how well I will sleep tonight after sleeping all day. We have things to do tomorrow.

I have a great wife. She makes things easy for us living in these cramped quarters. I am grateful to God for bringing us together.
