Healing in the swamp

Hey Y'all,

C and K are both feeling better. C and I got out this evening and visited my brother and sister in law and my niece. That was the first time C has got out since thanksgiving. She tires easily but is 1000 % better.

I stayed up till after daylight this morning. I ended up sleeping almost all day. It will be 0400 soon and I am not sleepy. I can't seem to get my days and nights back to normal.

K saw the doctor today. I am not sure if it did her any good or not. She is feeling better thou and that's the main thing.

Well Y'all take it easy!

More sickness in the swamp

Hey Y'all,
C is feeling better, but has a little diarrhea now. K came home early from work she is throwing up and has the diarrhea too.

I got some home made chicken soup I made in both of them tonight and they are feeling better. It is just a bug that's going around. So far I haven't got it yet. Knock on wood. Maybe all those virgin bloody Marys I have been drinking have killed it off and built up my immune system.

We were having trouble with the blacks up the road tonight. They were having a big party going on with the music blasting. We could hear it inside the house. I called the sheriff 4 times and they finally got it down to a low roar. I can't hear the music inside the house anymore, so I am happy. I am so ready to move away from here.

Well Y'all take care!

Sickness in the swamp

Hey Y'all,

C is just as sick as she can be. I think she has bronchitis. She is coughing up a bunch of junk and feels terrible. She has been in the bed almost all day today. Her forehead feels warm. We don't have a thermometer to see if she has a temp.

C is the one that never gets sick. It's usually me or K. When C gets sick it is really bad and knocks her down big time. I am feeling OK. I think we have both just been run down because of going so much for the last two weeks. There is a bug going around and the change in the weather probably is what done it. Plus us being in the cooler temps in north Ga. She was OK yesterday. Today is when it hit her hard.

I only got out of the house once today. That was to go to the grocery store and pick up supper for us. We had fried chicken and mashed taters and gravy. At first C didn't want to eat, but I talked her into it. I am going to get her some chicken noodle soup tomorrow. She is getting plenty of liquids.

K worked the evening black Friday crowd tonight. She just called and is on the way home after a long night at work.

Well take care and try to stay healthy!

Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hey Y'all!

Our Turkey day was grand! After K got off work, we took off to our friends house in South Carolina and had thanksgiving dinner with them. It was a traditional dinner with turkey and dressing, Candied sweet taters (or yams if you prefer), Green bean casserole, Mashed taters and gravy, Cranberry sauce, Olives, Pumpkin cake and pie. I ate so much I was stuffed and fell asleep in the chair while we were all sitting around talking. After that we went to a friend of mines bar and had Virgin bloody Marys and C had diet coke. It made for a good holiday!

Tomorrow or today if you prefer is black Friday. We are not going into the stores because it will be such a mad house. We plan to do some shopping Saturday, but it will be limited.

I hope your turkey day was grand!

back in the swamp

Hey Y'all,

I am very weary as I type this. Today's trip was a long one. It took us almost 2 1/2 hours to get thru Atlanta holiday traffic. I-75 was a nightmare parking lot in spots. A trip that normally takes us around 4-41/2 hours took us 6 hours today.

We didn't get good sleep last night. C was tossing and turning. and I was in too much pain to stay in the bed over 3 1/2- 4 hours. I will be glad to get in my chair tonight. We both are whuped.

K is on her way home and in the area. She will be here in a few minutes. It's 2230. That night driving is hard. She is young thou.

Well Y'all take it easy!

In the mountains

Hey Y'all,

C went to her appointment at the VA in Atlanta. We left there and met J and the grand baby for his appointment this afternoon. I met my grandson for the first time today and held him briefly. He is a beautiful baby. Of course I am prejudice. He is so small with his little fingers and those eyes that are always looking around taking things in. He sure takes to a bottle well.

We came on up and went to the auction tonight. It was good, but there weren't a lot of people selling. It ended early enough we were able to go by the grocery store on the way back to the motel room. C and I had sandwiches and I had some fruit too.

C has recently gone to sleep. I am having trouble feeling sleepy. I am tired, sore and weary, but not sleepy. Hopefully I will feel sleepy soon, so I can get some rest.

My pain meds will be running out before I can get some more. I am going to be miserable after tomorrow. I have them ordered. Hopefully I can get them before thanksgiving. If not, I suffer. Done it before. Just don't like it that's all.

Well take it easy!

Rainy day in Ga.

Hey Y'all,
It rained all day today here. I fell asleep in C's computer chair till about noon. My feet were swollen and there was blood all over my right heel. We figured out later on it was from a cat scratch on my leg. The blood had run down and formed a pool and my foot layed in it.

We took naps this afternoon/evening after K got home from work. We had Chinese food for supper tonight because none of us felt like cooking. We are both still recovering from the weekend.

Tomorrow (Monday) we are taking off for North Ga again. C has a doctors appointment in Atlanta and later on J has a appointment with the baby. We are going to go up there and see them and then go to the auction tomorrow night. Tuesday we will be coming home. Hopefully staying home for awhile.

Well Y'all, Take it easy!

Wrench's funeral today

Hey Y'all,

C stayed up and cooked and baked till late last night. I was her assistant. We got up this morning and she finished the rest of the cooking. We made it to the clubhouse and the ladies got busy with the food.

Everybody went to the funeral except me and another lady. We were grilling chicken on a great big grill and cooking hot dogs and keeping the clubhouse open. There was a lot of food and there were a lot of people who attended the funeral. We hit it just about right on the food. We didn't run short and almost everything was gone by the time we finished with supper.

C said the funeral was very nice. She was in my truck and was the first cage behind the pack. She said as far as she could see there were bikes in front of her. She couldn't see the front of the pack. The chapel was standing room only with people standing outside. One of the Brothers from the club conducted the service and the Chaplin that married C and I was there. He got up and gave a sermon. When everybody made it back to the clubhouse and had ate, the club presented Wrench's dad with a photo album and also hung a cross with wrench's name on a tree in the back of the clubhouse. Then the party was on! C and I left and came home because we are both whipped, exhausted and spent.

We both fell asleep earlier. She in front of the TV and I in front of the computer. We probably napped for about a hour. Now we are relaxing.

Y'all have a good one!

Friday night club church

Hey Y'all,
We just got back from club church. It was good tonight. Most everybody was there. We had pizza and a good meeting.

C has been baking brownies tonight getting ready for the funeral tomorrow. She has a lot more stuff to get ready in the morning. She feels strongly that this is what she should do to help out and contribute. She is a good gal.

We are home now. I got my case of Blenheim real ginger ale that my club brother picked up for me when he was going thru South Carolina and past the factory. I got the hot kind. It goes up your nose like wasabi or hot radish when you drink it. I love it.

We are back to chillaxin again tonight. It's midnight as I post this.

Y'all have a good one!

Ceremony for Wrench at the bar

Hey Y'all,
We went out to a ceremony for Wrench at the bar that the club hangs out at on bike night. My favorite local band was playing there. I got to meet Wrench's dad and step mom who drove all the way from Oregon. One corner of the US to the other corner of the US.

I got a chance to ask his dad a question about Wrench, that Wrench never talked about much and wouldn't tell me. I have wondered about it for years. I have tried to get it out of his ex wife when they were married. She would never tell me. I have my answer now. I just hate that this is the way I have to get it. Wrench's dad like his son is a great guy. He looks just like Wrench too.

We stopped at wal mart on the way home and picked up food to prepare for the funeral Saturday. It was foggy out tonight but C was driving us home. She did a great job. My back and knees and feet are hurting from being out tonight.

So we are home and chillaxin' now. I am going to try to get to sleep hopefully early enough that I don't sleep all morning into the afternoon.

Y'all take it easy!

Got some sleep last night

Hey Y'all!
I actually got to bed at 0200 last night. I woke up around 0700. It was nice!

Yesterday we went over to South Carolina to the club church meeting. We had a great time seeing our friends. It has been nice to get out this week. We have been cooped up and it has been driving us nuts. We have needed to get out. We have been getting shack wacky.

We had burger king on the way back home in the truck at almost midnight. That was a mighty good burger and fries since we both hadn't ate much yesterday. Our friend sent us home with a pumpkin pie and a can of whipped cream. We had pumpkin pie when we came home last night.

Well Y'all take it easy!

Good evening RIP Wrench

Hey Y'all,
We went to a memorial service for my club brother that was killed that was club only. We couldn't do a 21 gun salute, so we lit fire crackers as his colors passed by. It was perfect. A lot of people said good things about him. It was a good time of gathering together and remembrance.

Afterwards we went to the bar I use to work at and I drowned my sorrows in virgin bloody Mary's.(no alcohol). We had a good time seeing familiar faces and catching up with people.

We are home now and relaxing.

Day of recovery

Hey Y'all,
C got her rest time in after the big week she had up in North Ga. I took it easy today too. I got out twice. Once to go to the mailbox and get the mail, the other to go pay my property taxes and go to the grocery store.

I am hopefully going to get to sleep at a decent hour tonight. Decent being around 0300. Since C has been back I got to sleep well before daylight this time. I am going to try and make it a little earlier each night.

We had spaghetti and meat sauce for supper tonight. It was really good. I eat a whole lot better when C is home. The stuff is in the refrigerator and cabinets. I just don't fix it. I'm glad I married her. She takes really good care of me.

Well Take it easy!

Good day, bad day

Hey Y'all,

I did the all night thing again. Someone came out and looked at the house and loved it. Everything was looking promising till they left. They were going down the road from my house and the neighbors were in the street drag racing and all ganged up in the road. The lady called the realtor and told her she loved the house but couldn't deal with the neighborhood.

C is back home from North Ga. It is so good to have her back. I have been lost for the last week without her. I know she misses it up there and being away from the grand baby, but she is glad to be home too.

Well Y'all take it easy,

Sleepy head

Hey Y'all,
I got to sleep about 7 this morning. I'm not sure what time I got up, but in about a hour or 2 I went back to sleep and slept a couple more hours. I went out to the local super market and got a dinner from the deli and returned home and ate it. It was good and hot. It was nice to get a decent meal in me instead of living off lunch meat and beans and junk food.

K got off work tonight and came home. She is on C's computer right now playing a game. She has Sunday off, so she can stay up late tonight.

All day at the VA

Hey Y'all,
I woke up about 7 this morning. I went to the VA and had my blood drawn. I left and went to Captain D's seafood and got some fish. I was so hungry and the fish tasted so good! I went back to the VA and saw my doctor at 2pm. He fussed at me about my blood sugar and not testing it and my cholesterol. After that I went to physical therapy and was showed the correct way to walk with a cane. I have a cane of my own, but I will get one from the VA in December when I have my next appointment.

It was a rough trip up there. and not quite as rough coming back, but still rough. I kept nodding off while I was driving. I have got to where I don't like to drive long trips because I get so sleepy. That is why I am glad I don't have that driving job anymore. There was many a day and night I was all over the road. That's kind of how I was today. I had no choice to drive. I had to make my appointments. Sometimes I have to do what I have to do even if I don't like it.

Well I home relaxing. C is going to stay up there till at least Sunday. I look forwards to her coming back.

Up all night, up all day

Hey Y'all,
I stayed up all last night and to day. I stayed awake so I could sleep tonight. I have to get up in the morning and go to a appointment in Augusta Ga. at the VA. I have been dozing off every time I sit down it seems. At the computer, on the toilet. I'll just nod off without knowing it for 30 minutes to a hour. I am going to try and get to sleep by 12-1 o'clock.

I have to fast for 12 hours before they draw blood from me tomorrow. I just ate my last meal for the night. A half a can of bush's beans and a couple of slices of lunch meat ham. It ain't the greatest, but will do in a pinch. I am ready for C to get back, so I will eat better. K took care of me tonight for supper. She brought me some hot wings and tater logs from Wal mart deli where she works. She brought me cheesecake last night for veteran's day. She's a good kid and I appreciate her thinking of dad.

My only company during the day are the cats. I have the phone and chat when I can get someone who is not working. I tried to sleep for a hour today and the phone kept ringing. It's kind of ironic that I am staying awake to sleep and when I try to catch a nap , the phone rings. Oh well such is life.

Well Y'all take it easy. I am going to lay down soon.

Sad news

Hey Y'all,
I lost one of my brothers in the motorcycle club last night. He was killed riding his bike when a truck pulled in front of him. Rest in peace, Wrench.

Today has been a quiet day today. I stayed up till 1100 this morning to take care of some business. I slept till about 5 this afternoon when C called and woke me up. I'm glad she did. I needed to get up. Supper was McDonald's. I got tired of eating lunch meat and wanted something different.

I miss C a whole lot since she has been gone up there with J and the grand baby. Talking on the phone is good, but it just ain't the same as seeing her.

I will probably be up till late again since I slept in the afternoon today. The rain has almost left and it has become windy.

New Baby

Hey Y'all,

P made his appearance last night around 10:30. He's 6 lbs 13 oz, 20.5 inches long. Has blond hair and knew how to suck his thumb right away. They had to do a C section on J to get him out.

C made it up there fine. She is completely exhausted and is running on very little sleep. J and P aren't going home till Thursday. C is going to stay with them till then at the hospital. C is wore out but wouldn't trade the experience for anything. She's a grandma now.

There's gonna be a baby born!

Hey Y'all,

J went into labor today. C has already gone up to N. Ga to the hospital where she is at. She is still in labor at the time of this post. J has already got her epidural to block the pain.

I am here alone. I canceled my VA appointment today and had it rescheduled in December. I did not feel like going up there and with all this going on with J in labor, I felt I needed to stay home. It's quiet and lonely in the house. My only companions are the cats and I think they are asleep. I saw K when she got off work. She has gone to a friends house to spend the night so, I pretty much have the house to myself.

Sleepy Sunday

Hey Y'all,
I stayed up till 1100 this morning. I got about 3 hours sleep and got up this afternoon. C had laid back down and took a nap too. I went to the grocery store to get air filters and some stuff for supper.

Our air filters had got dirty and clogged up. The A/C had frozen up this afternoon. The only available air filters at the grocery store are ones that are some what restrictive. We normally get ones that are of a lighter construction and flow air better. Our air filters clog up and get dirty real quick I guess because we smoke and burn candles in the house, not to mention the normal dust in the air.

Supper was ravioli and meat sauce cooked on the stove, salad and garlic bread. I had a plateful and was stuffed like a ravioli. C and K enjoyed their supper too.

Now we are relaxing. The temperature outside is beginning to drop a little. It was in the 80's this afternoon. We just shut the A/C off and are waiting for it to get cool enough in the house to turn on the heat.

Relaxing day at the swamp

Hey Y'all,

We didn't do much today. Kinda slept late. It has been a quiet relaxing day. We were going to get out tonight and go to a auction. C isn't feeling 100% so we decided to stay home tonight. I went to the grocery store and picked up some stuff for supper.

K is home and relaxing in her room. She worked today from 6 to 2. She has to work tomorrow at McDonald's and that will be her last day there. Monday she goes in for orientation at Wal Mart. She is excited and I think a little nervous at the same time. This will be a new adventure for her. One I hope rewards her with good things.

Everyone is doing good. Keep C in your prayers thou. She is going thru a little bit of a rough time. Not bad. I think she still has a little bit of the cold she had is lingering on some still. It's getting that time of year. C usually never gets sick thou. She had the chills today and was feeling drained.

We went to a different auction tonight. We had a good time. It is in a small town that my niece lives in. It was nice because we could sit down and there were people there I recognized. The auctioneer kept everyone entertained. It was kind of like the auction up in north Ga.

We are doing OK. K just left for work. Hopefully we will get sleepy soon and can lay down.

Surprising day at the swamp

Hey Y'all,

I got to sleep about 8 this morning.(Thursday) The girls had went to work at 5:45am. About 10 am I woke up to B coming home early. She says I quit McDonald's and I want to move back to my moms today, do you think you could put my stuff in your truck and take me? I said OK and asked her what happened with the job. She got pissed off at her manager and told them, that's it I quit!, And walked out. We got her stuff together and loaded it in the truck and I took her to the army base where her mom lives. We knew she was going to move this weekend, but today was kind of a surprise. I hope she will be OK and we will miss her.

K came in when she got off work and they were begging her to stay there. She has a job with Wal mart she is going to. It's a step up and a move from fast food to retail. I think she starts next week. She of course still lives here and knows where her bread is buttered LOL.

C and I got out of the house tonight and went to the auction. We spent a whole 2 bucks. C got two big bags of Christmas stuff that looked new for her Christmas baskets she does every year. We did take a break from the auction and went to the local restaurant and had chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for supper. It was really good and the price was right. We have both needed a night out together. We were both getting shack wacky.

Our sleep is still messed up for both of us. We have our days and nights mixed up like a baby. We are up all hours of the night and sleep in the mornings. It's telling on us. We did get dishes and some laundry done last night.

Well Y'all take it easy! I'll probably be up all night again. I think C is going to try and get some sleep tonight. At least one of us will get some rest.

Nice day

Hey Y'all,
We are doing OK. I got out and went to my dads town today to meet my brother and to take care of some business. Later on tonight we went to wal mart and got some groceries and a wireless router so we could get all the computers online. We now have some groceries in the house too.

We got bad news from the realtor the other day. If someone wants to buy our house, I'm not sure if they can get financing. We found out the banks around here won't make a loan to buy a single wide. The one finance company that would that the realtor knew about has went out of business. We are going to call and check around to see if there are any places out there that will. We could be screwed. If it's meant to be, it will happen. I have faith for that.

B the girl who has been living with us is moving out this weekend and going to live with her mom. We will miss her and hope things go well for her.

Well Y'all take it easy!

Cool day down south

Hey Y'all,

It cooled off today. (or yesterday now.) It will be 0400 by the time I finish this and it's 45 degrees out there right now.

We didn't do a lot again today. I got out to the grocery store and the post office. C stayed in today. We have become home bodies. We don't get out much anymore. That's not a bad thing. We actually enjoy spending time at home. We didn't even do much cooking today. It was leftovers and they were good.

K has a interview with wal mart in the big city. She is hoping to get a better job, better pay and a change from McDonald's. She is tired of working in fast food. Keep your fingers crossed for her. She has decided not to move up to Atlanta after all. We still don't know what she is going to do if we move to N. Ga.

Nice quiet Sunday at the swamp

Hey Y'all,

We have been taking it easy today. We stayed up late last night and slept in. It was a beautiful day. I went to the grocery store to pick up some stuff for supper. The grocery store even thou it's in a small town has electric power chair shopping carts. I can get around the store without it just about killing me. They let me take it out to the truck after I have checked out. Usually a bag boy follows me out and rides it back in the store for me. I like living in a small town because of things like that.

C made a meatloaf for supper tonight and corn. It was good and I look forward to meatloaf sandwiches tomorrow. Other than that we haven't done much. C is feeling better and is getting over whatever it is she has had. It's unusual because she is the one who never gets sick. Usually when she does, it's real bad. This time it was mild. Hey! I ain't complaining. If this is all she gets sick this winter, I'll be happy.

Well, Y'all take it easy!

Hey Y'all,
We got out this afternoon. We went to our friends Grand youngin's birthday party. Her birthday is actualy next week but they decided to have the party today. We had a blast sitting down and visiting with their family and them. They took the youngin's on a hay ride to trick or treat after we left.

That's what we did today. Made a few phone calls and that's about it. It was a nice quiet peaceful Halloween. We didn't even have any trick or treaters. Time just switched back a few minutes ago.
