Weekend post from the swamp

Hey Y'all,
I didn't post last night cause I was plum wore out and went to bed. Still didn't get to bed till about 1 am.

Saturday I ordered the shrimp, made arrangements for a port a potty and went to the clubhouse to help with clean up. C and I ended running to Sam's club for the motorcycle club..

Today C has been cleaning around the house. Her and I took R to the club house to look around and see where he is going to set up his DJ karaoke equipment. He is doing our wedding for free as a wedding present. He is going to have to set up in the front for the wedding and then tear down and set up in the back for the reception.

K is going to the emergency room tonight. Her knee has been bothering her the last couple of days. Tonight at work it swole up real bad and has sharp shooting pain. C has to take her because she is still on her real dads insurance and C has to sign for her.

Well Y'all take care!!

Another employed american at camp swampy

Hey Y'all,

I got the job on base at the construction company. I start Monday. I will be general labor/helper. It pays 8 bucks a hour with room for advancement. It is from 7:30 till 4 Monday thru Friday which is right up my alley. It takes me about 45 minutes to get there because the speed limit is 45 thru the back side of the base.

Went to club church at the big city chapter tonight where we are having our wedding. It's going to be at their clubhouse. I got everything finalized and set up with them for the event. I put down a 300 dollar bar tab for the reception. That should keep us for awhile. I got to call next week and get a port a potty out there. Tomorrow I order the shrimp. I got the tables and chairs ordered today from the rental company.

C is feeling better today. She really had me concerned last night. I think she was just tired out.

Haven't seen much of K today. Either she has been gone or we have been gone. She did call me and told me she got in school suspension for having her cell phone. Cell phones are against the rules but we allow her to take hers to school because often we need to get in touch with her thru text messaging or after school when we are not around. Often she leaves from school and goes strait to work.

Went by the bar tonight and had supper. It's funny but C and I were talking and we just don't feel like we belong there anymore. I go in there to have a bite to eat and see my friend I was doing the tile work with and that's about it. It just don't seem the same anymore. There is nobody there for karaoke. The weekends were getting dead there back when I worked there. My old boss doesn't talk to me much and is preoccupied with other things. He is still pissed at me about the whole unemployment thing. It's not my fault he left his ass hanging out with his tax reporting. He had a bad accountant. It's not his fault either. I didn't know I was going to cause him a problem when I applied for unemployment. Oh well life goes on and the world keeps turning. Hopefully we will get over it. I am glad to be out of the bar scene, the loud music, drunks and drama.

The cats are asleep on my feet right now. Earlier they were grooming each other before they passed out. They are such a blessing to me. It's a pain in the ass cleaning kitty litter and stuff. They claw the couch and tear up the blinds and all the stuff cats do. But I love them. I can meow at monkey and she stops what she is doing and jumps up in my lap. Molly is usually not far away. C kids me in fun sometimes because I am this big tattooed biker guy who pets my cats and talks all syrup sweet to them and gives them kisses. No I'm not gay.

I now have one more week as a bachelor. Since C and I have been living together a year September 28th, I don't think getting married will change things much. It is a big step and the next step for us. C swore she would never get married again and at one time in my life I swore I never would. I think C is more nervous about it than I am. After all she has been thru two marriages that didn't work out. I had trust issues with women in the past but I feel comfortable trusting C and she is my best friend. We love each other and it comes natural for us. We are committed to each other and we just fit well like a pair of old shoes.

I met her over the Internet at the beginning of April 2006. She lived up in Atlanta and I down south. We met each other in person on my birthday at club church in the big city. We have been together almost every weekend since till she moved in with me and we got the swamp. K calls me dad. We are a family. They say opposites attract. That is true in our case. She is a bold Yankee from Michigan and I am a laid back Southerner from Georgia. It's funny thou. We think alike and often know what each other is thinking. Sometimes we say the same thing at the same time. We don't keep secrets and talk about everything. When we get mad at each other or one of us has done something the other one doesn't like, we get over it. Fighting is very extremely rare. We have only had a couple of big blow ups since we have known each other. We get along quite well.

Well Y'all it's almost 3 o'clock as I am finishing this up. Even thou I am not sleepy I need to go in there and get a shower and try to get some sleep. I will probably fart around on the computer a little more and then go to bed

Y'all take care!!!

Busy day at the swamp

Hey Y'all,
C has gone to bed and I awake as usual. She's not feeling good tonight and it has me a little concerned.

I went and ordered the sheet cake for the wedding today. I am hoping we don't have too much or too little food for the wedding. It's hard to gauge. I have been calling around about tables and chairs today and am going to call one place back that a brother in the club recommended I think.

I went to the military base today and met the guy for the job. The interview went well. He is supposed to call me tomorrow and let me know something definite. If he doesn't call me in the morning I am supposed to call him in the afternoon.

We went to the auction tonite. We came away with a set of nice cherry nightstands, a lamp, another table and a circular saw. I paid 9 bucks for the saw. C and I really needed the night stands because I was using a storage tub and she was using a end table with a broken drawer for nightstands. The lamp we got is a hurricane type lamp and looks great on her new nightstand. The bedroom is coming together. The table we paid 5 bucks for and will go in our living room to replace a small table that is falling apart.

K is doing well but is having a tiff with her ex boyfriend. These kids go thru so much drama.

We got a sprinkle or two of rain today. It was a nice cool overcast day. I praying for nice weather for the wedding coming up Saturday-week.

Well Y'all I am going to play around on the computer some more and then take a shower and go to bed.

Y'all take care!!

Can't sleep- Wee hours of the morning in the swamp

Hey Y'all,
It's cooling off down here a little bit. The weather is getting nice. C has hit the bed but I just can't sleep.

Took dad to see the doctor today. He will be O.K. They are going to change some of his medications. The rest my family will have to call me on the phone for me to tell ya about it because it has to do with his privates.

Went and saw the lady at wall mart about our cake today to finalize some things. She wasn't there when we ordered it and I needed to talk to her. We are having pale green hearts added onto it. I am going to go tomorrow and order a sheet cake that is decorated just like the three tier cake so we have plenty of cake for the wedding.

I got to go to the military base tomorrow to see somebody about a job that I have been after. It's with the company that's doing the three year remodel. Hopefully I will get hired on.

I have been on the phone this afternoon checking on prices for shrimp for the low country boil. For medium shrimp I have got quotes for anything from 7.99 lb to 4.00 lb. I went out and bought a cooler today just for the shrimp. We are going to get 50 to 60 pounds of shrimp. I got 87.5 lbs of sausage, 192 niblet ears of corn in my freezer. I got a big can of old bay seasoning. The ol' boy that is going to cook it for me uses potatoes and onions in his. We are going to pick them up later on next week. Add 150 pieces of fried chicken, about 25 lbs of potato salad, four institutional size cans of green beans for green bean casserole, Cole slaw, and banana pudding and I think there will be enough food to go around. We are going to have cheese and veggie trays too.

My boss paid me 150 bucks on what he owes me tonight. He's whittling it down. He is going to be in my wedding and is a close friend. He hasn't been working much. He is picking up some work with his dad that is in the floor covering business. I like him and hope things turn around for him. It's hard right now.

C got her first paycheck from her new job today. With the overtime it was a nice one. We have so much needed the money. I got the monthly bills and our homeowners insurance bill checks written out and in the mail last night. I paid those out of our savings. We have been living off savings and the credit cards. I called the tax commissioners office today and found out property tax bills come out October 1st. Since this is the first year in our new home I have no idea how much it will be. God keeps blessing us and we are making it. I am looking forwards to getting the property tax bill paid so I can quit worrying about it.

Well, I am going to go fart around on the Internet so maby I can get sleepy.

Y'all take care!!

Saw C for lunch in the big city

Hey Y'all,
I'm feeling rough tonite like I got a cold or something. Maby with a good nights sleep, I can shake it.

Tomorrow I take dad to the doctor. He is having some problems that needs to get checked out.

I had lunch today with C. We went to a couple of places looking for stuff for the wedding. I want to find a cake knife and server for our wedding cake that I can get engraved. I ordered off of eBay last night a set of toasting glasses. They have a harley eagle acid etched in the front. On the back it will have C and I names and the wedding date.

Well Y'all, I'm going to get off here and vegetate a little bit.
Y'all take care,

K's hair and mowing grass in the swamp

Hey Y'all,
I spent most of the day in the hair salon. I ended up taking K to my old hometown to the lady who cuts my dads hair in the nursing home. She is good when it comes to ladies hair and color and such. It took her about 3 hours to get K's hair fixed. She had to color it one color then pull it thru a cap and color it again. After all is said and done, my daughter has blond hair. It looks good and she is happy with it.

I went out and spent some money today without telling C I was going to do it. She left her cell phone home today is my excuse, I mean reason for not discussing it with her. I bought a used riding mower from out of the tell and sell. I got it cheap. It has a new motor and mowing deck. A lady was selling it for her 80 year old dad who can't mow his grass anymore. It came with a set of ramps and a gas edger that won't crank. It has a grass catcher on back. It's a older model but I brought it home and it mows great!! The boy who cuts my grass bent the blade again on the push mower Sunday when he was mowing our grass. I saw him today on the way back home with the new mower. I mowed for a little while and then he finished the rest up.

I got to go pick up K in a few minutes from dairy queen where she works. C and I ate supper there tonite so C could see K's hair.

Well Y'all take care!!

Sunday in the swamp

Hey Y'all,
It's Sunday night and we are settling down at my house. Not ready for bed. C is watching army wives T.V. show if it ain't gone off yet. K is in her room hanging out and talking on the phone. I am keeping her out of school to get her hair fixed tomorrow. I found out that my friend will not be open Monday like a lot of salons in this area. One of the guys I know who rides, wife works in a salon in the big city. I am going to take K there tomorrow. I have already been warned they are pricey. If K messes with her hair after we get it fixed I will be mighty mad.

We Went back to Sam's club and got the green beans and old bay seasoning and some other stuff. After K got off work we went out to the club house and had a bite to eat and talked to the president of that chapter to iron out some details of the wedding. After that we went out to the bar to talk to some more people, but didn't stay long.

We have been calling the people who didn't send back RSVP. We have about 110 people coming to the wedding so far. There will probably be more.

The job I have been courting working for a contractor that is doing a three year remodel on a nearby army base, is supposed to call me sometime next week. maby I will be going back to work on a real job soon.

One of my cats, Monkey the bobtail just jumped up on my chest and is purring while I am typing this one handed. Molly the other cat is down on the floor asleep beside the chair. We bought them some more play houses and joined them together the other day. They are having a good time with it.

We found a cake topper we like for our wedding cake. It is a precious moments bride and groom with two glass hearts behind it and lace around the base.

Well C is getting ready for bed so I am going to go and see her off to sleep.

Y'all take care!!

Gettin' ready for a hitchin' in the swamp

Hey Y'all,
C and I ordered the cake today. We went to this super fancy high falootin' cake place. Wall-mart. That's right Wally world is doing our wedding cake. They have what we want at the best price. C doesn't like pound cake and they use yellow cake and butter cream icing. It's a 3 tier cake. with designs and leaves on it. We may put some silk flowers on it too. We went to Sam's club and picked up the sausage and corn for the low country boil. We got plates and plastic ware, napkins and other stuff. We are going back tomorrow and get some more stuff. C and I had a buggy load of stuff when we left and we were getting tired. We ate a hot dog at Sam's that was a big as a donkey uh-uh. It was a BIG hot dog. Biggest dag gum hot dog I ever seen in my life! We saw another couple there that is getting married on the same day we are, that we know. One of our friends that is coming to the wedding works there at Sam's. She offered to make tater salad and bring it.

We ordered the fried chicken for our wedding from our local restaurant in town tonite while we were having supper. 150 pieces. We could have got the chicken from wall mart for about 35 bucks cheaper, but coming from the restaurant we know it will be fresh and good.

C's nails were breaking off so we got her nails done. She will go back again before the wedding and get a manicure and pedicure. K surprised us last night. Her and her friends got ahold of a bleaching solution and put it on her hair. Her hair now looks like it dropped a hit of acid. It's light blond to dark brown and something streaked in between. Not a pretty sight and K is mortified. She had to go to work today looking like some carrot top from a alien planet. I am taking her out of school Monday and contacting a friend of mine that does my hair and is a master cosmetologist. I am going to beg her to work K in on Monday. It will probably cost me a lot to get this fixed.

I don't know if we are going to make it to church tomorrow. We have a lot going on. Maby when things settle down a bit.

Well Y'all take care!!

Been to the auction

Hey Y'all,
I am up again and can't sleep.

Did my application the other day for unemployment. It was just like I said in last post. They showed me as making no money for 2007. They are going to do a wage investigation. I can't file on the boss I have now because he is working me on a 1099. I had to file on my old boss at the bar. Since I quit there to take another job that adds a whole new perspective to it too. The hope of me getting unemployment is looking dim. I am burning up my seed money in the bank.

Speaking of burning up seed money, C and I went to the auction tonight. We were looking for a dresser for dad to go in his new room. We found one that was perfect size but it was a little rickety. I called dad and described it and the condition. Dad said he didn't want me to bid on it. We did however come away with some stuff we really need for a cheap price. K broke her bed awhile back and it was sitting on cinder blocks with a broken box springs. It's all saggy and doesn't sleep well. We got a new frame and box springs and mattress really cheap. I have been shopping around for a small chest freezer to put the stuff for the low country boil and chicken we are having for the wedding. They had one there and we got a hell of a deal on it. I have it plugged in with a bottle of water in it to see how well it works. We got some little gazebos for near nothing that we can set up for the wedding. C got a crystal lamp with a really neat shade for the house. It's lighting up the living room right now.

This Saturday C and I are going to do some running around and getting stuff for the wedding. Put in our order for a cake. Get canned food like green beans and stuff. I got a Sam's club card today so we can shop there too.

Tomorrow (today now) I am going to meet dad and my brother to go to lunch and then we are going to shop for him a new lighter weight wheel chair. After that we are going by the house so he can look for some books.

Well I am going to surf around on the net till I get sleepy. Who knows what time that will be.

Y'all take care!!

Running errands in C's swamp buggy

Hey Y'all,
I spent the day running errands in C's swamp buggy. Go to the post office, deliver a wedding invitation, get her oil changed, go by the bank. I ate a big Mac and fries while driving down the road because I didn't have much time. Believe it or not, that took most of the day. I came home after that and took a nap.

I still don't know when I will be working. I am going to apply for unemployment tomorrow. I don't know if I will get it. It's a long story but my previous boss at the bar had a problem with his accountant last year and I don't know if she even paid or did any of my paper work for taxes last year. I paid my own taxes just to cover it so I didn't get into trouble with ye old IRS. I am not shure if I am in the system or not for the time I worked. The accountant mysteriously lost all my files and couldn't remember me and there was no back up. I may not have any unemployment insurance to claim. Keep me in your prayers and keep your fingers, toes, legs and arms crossed for me. I need money.

Don't get me wrong, I am getting by. My bills are paid up to date and I have food to eat and gas in the tank. The value of my vehicles goes up and down proportionally with the amount of gas I have in them. The good Lord has provided for me. I just want a steady job that I actually get paid for doing. My boss threw me a bone the other day and gave me 100 bucks on what he owes me already. It is a drop in the bucket but it was like water to a thirsty man. I gave C half so we had money in our pockets for a few days.

The wedding is coming up fast. In 2 and a half weeks C and I will have tied the knot. It's about time and we are excited. It has been busy for us getting ready for the wedding but the next couple of weeks will probably be somewhat intense.

Well I got to get dressed and take K something to her work for her.

Y'all take it easy!!

Sittin' home in the swamp

Howdy Y'all,
I ain't working again today. The boss called and said he had another problem getting a check. I am here on the computer checking on jobs. This sitting at home and not working just ain't cutting it. I am going to apply for a security officer job this afternoon.

C went yesterday and spent the day with our friend that is doing her dress for the wedding. She had a good time but was wore out by the time she got home. I went and saw dad. Today dad will move into his new room.

Well Y'all I am going to get a shower and find me a bite to eat.

Rattle snake stew in the neighbors swamp

Hey Y'all,
Our chapter of the club met up with two other chapters of my club and rode out aways to another clubs annual party. More of our club was there, a 1%er club was there, A whole lot of people. They had sweet taters, sandwiches and rattle snake stew. C wouldn't eat the snake stew. I had some and thought it was pretty darn good. It was about a 2 hour ride there and 2 hours back. I was wore out and my butt was sore when we got back. The chaplain that is going to marry us was there. We had a good time chatting.

All the guys brought out their pistols and rifles and were shooting. I didn't go over there and shoot cause it was just too darn loud. I stayed in the club house most of the time where the air conditioning was. While C was outside someone patted her on the butt with their pistol and said "smile baby!", which made her a little nervous. We had a good time.

When we got back we went out to the bar I use to work at and had supper. There was a ruckus going on when we got there and it was some of the drunks I have run out of there several times before. They see me as a friend, the drunks that is. I talked to them a little bit and let the new bouncer handle it and do his job. It kind of made me chuckle. I am so glad I don't work there anymore.

We came home and C got on the computer and played some of her "stupid mindless games" as she calls it. She likes playing games on the computer to wind down. She came in there and went to bed as I was getting ready to take my shower.

Tomorrow C is going over to our friends house that is helping her with the dress for the wedding. I don't know if we will make it to a church service or not. I would like to tomorrow night if possible, but we'll see. I am going to see dad tomorrow while she is gone.

Well that's about all I know for now.

Whumpas cat cryin out in the swamp

Hey Y'all!!
I don't know why I thought of the wumpas cat. I heard of them when I was growing up. I guess they are still out there. They are a big wild cat that hangs out in the woods and comes out and kills livestock for food. Chickens, baby calf's, goats. What it has to do with anything, I don't know.

Saw dad today and got the bill paid on the nursing home. They will be moving him Monday to a room with a private toilet. He is looking forwards to the move. It's closer to the front and the nurses station. The window looks out towards the road.

K is off with her new boyfriend MJ and his friend redneck C. We let her stay out tonight till 12:30. I am waiting up for them to be home. She had to work tonight and they picked her up from work. She came home and changed and we got to visit for a little while.

C worked late tonight because her job works with a company that works with the government and contracted transportation. Monday the government will not pay for the transportation they coordinate because of gas prices. She is busy making phone calls to the recipients of this service to let them know they will not have their transportation. There are gonna be some unhappy people out there. She has to do the same tomorrow and go in early.

Sat down at the local restaurant tonight and had supper with one of the local fixtures in town. An old man who is a disabled vet and works for the local pet groomer. He walks their dogs. Doesn't drive and everybody seems to know him. A lot of interesting conversation.

Our cats are growing like weeds and getting bigger. They look almost full grown. They are sweet cats not hateful or mean or anything like that. They truly are a blessing to this household.

Well Y'all take care!
Hold on to your pocket books cause the gas prices will rob them dry!

Wee hours of the morning in the swamp

Hey Y'all,
I can't sleep. I slept in this morning because my boss isn't working me right now because he can't afford to pay me. Which sucks. He still owes me over 500 bucks. That's a lot of money to me right now. I got a referral from the dept. of labor for a custodian job. I sent my resume in. I am out there looking. I don't know which way to go, only that I need money.

I talked to the chaplain that is going to marry us tonight. He really is a great guy and a positive force for Christ. He rides and has a motorcycle ministry. He goes around all the clubs Here in our area of Georgia and down into Florida some. He really gets around.

Had supper tonite at the local restaurant. I had sausage and field peas, and pear salad. C has never seen pear salad. She is from Michigan. She doesn't like pears and couldn't figure it out with the cheese and all. My momma use to make me fresh pear salad because we had pear trees in our back yard. These were canned pears from the restaurant, but they were good. Only problem is one ain't enough. I miss good ol' southern cookin'. C is a good cook thou. She just cooks and eats like people from up north. She makes some killer stew beef, but she don't eat it over rice. I'm not criticizing or complaining. I'm well fed. I like going to our local restaurant to eat cause they have southern style food and they are pretty cheap. C had pancakes and eggs and bacon and our bill with drinks was about 15 bucks. C can eat breakfast anytime of the day. K doesn't like breakfast. We can get it all unless it's morning at our local restaurant. They have some weird hours thou. Mondays and Sunday lunch and dinner they are closed. They close between lunch and dinner too. We have to hit them just right to get fed there.

Went and saw dad today. He was in a good mood. His girlfriend was there. He's always in a good mood when she is there. She spends the day with him and it makes his world not seem so lonely.

Well Y'all I don't know of much.
Take care!!

Tired posting in the swamp

Hey Y'all,
It was hot today. I was soaked with sweat not long after getting on the job. I got off a little early to come home and go by the post office and pick up a letter they were holding for us, pay the land line bill, get cigarettes etc.

C and I made it to the assembly of God church Sunday. We decided it's not the church for us. Next Sunday C is supposed to go with our friend that is helping with the wedding and do girl stuff. Maby the following weekend we can try another one in our area. C gets to pick the next one. At least we are looking. It's something that she and I want to get back to.

I am still working without knowing if I am going to get paid anytime soon. Hopefully one job we were on today, we can get a check from. I have to call my boss tonight later on to see if we are working tomorrow.

C worked late tonight. She put on stew beef in the crock pot this morning and we had it for supper tonight when she got home. It was really good. I have to pick up K from work tonight cause C is tuckered out. I am looking forwards to getting in the bed tonight.

Well I don't know of much. Just the day in and day out of the common man.

Todays longer post from the swamp

Hey Y'all,
We had our bike wash today and it was HOT. C got out there and washed bikes. We had members from our club come in from all over the area and other clubs showed up too. We got home and went to the local restaurant for supper. C had french toast and eggs and I had meatloaf, speckled butter beans and broccoli with cheese.

We came home after that and relaxed. I got my shower a little while ago and now I am running around the house nakie cause K has gone to a friends house to spend the night. C is in there watching her crime drama shows on T.V.

We talked to the pastor who is going to marry us tonight and found out there is a church like where he goes to here in our town. It's a assembly of God church. C and I are going to attend a service tomorrow morning after we take K to work. I hope it isn't one of those churches with a freak show going on. I've never been to a assembly of God church before. If it starts getting weird, C and I are out of there. C and I have been wanting to go to church somewhere. She's Lutheran and I am protestant/catholic/non-denominational. (I've been around the block) I use to go to one of those churches where they roll around on the floor and grab people by the fore head and all that crazy crap. I don't have any use for that anymore. The last church I was involved in was the catholic church. They are pretty much the same everywhere as far as the way the services go. Sit stand kneel.

Well Y'all take care!

Quikie in the swamp

Hey Y'all!
The chapter of my club is having a bike wash and cook out today. I have to go pick up the grill in a little while.

I got paid some of the money my boss owes me yesterday. 1/3rd of it. I don't know if we will be working next week or not. I paid my light bill and it left me 20 dollars left over. I've decided that even thou my boss is a good friend of mine, I am going to look for another job. I just can't do this anymore.

Didn't get a paycheck- again

Just got off work and I am pissed, along with everybody else I work with and for. We got a check this morning so when we took lunch we took it by the bank. There were no funds available. So the lady was coming out to the job site and gave us another check with a different account. She said the bank put the money in the wrong account. We went after work back to the bank and the second check is no good too. I don't know what to f'n do. I got bills to pay daggumit. The boss is going to try and work it out tomorrow. He told the job super if he doesn't get paid in the morning, we aren't doing any more work on the house.

Good news in the swamp

Hey Y'all!!
C GOT A JOB!!!!!!!! She started today. It was a long day and she is plum wore out. She was so tired tonite when she made it home she was having dizzy spells. She is in the living room in my chair wrapped up in a blanket cause of the A/C watching T.V.

I almost got paid today. We picked up the check and went to bank but it was filled out wrong and the bank wouldn't cash it. We are supposed to get another check tomorrow that is filled out right. I am working on the third week with no pay. It's killing us. I have been running up my credit card just to eat and cigarettes. I got money in the bank earmarked for the wedding and end of the year bills. I am going to have to spend some of it to cover my credit card bill. I have my bills in for last month. They are overdue or due. I am going to pay the electric bill first, then the cell phone bill and then the Cable/TV/Internet/land line bill last. I'll just pay them as the money comes in. C won't get paid for three weeks. Her ex is nowhere to be found and we can't get a hold of him to send child support. If she doesn't bug him, he won't send it. It pisses me off cause it directly affects his daughter and I wonder if he gives two shits about her. The guy is such a asshole.

I am wore out from work today. I got to go pick up K from work tonite around 10:15/10:30. Then I am heading to bed.

Y'all take care!!!
