Sleepless in the swamp

Hey Y'all!
I came home from work and got my shower and laid down, but I just can't seem to go to sleep. C is up reading to get sleepy. She suggested that I come and play on the computer awhile and maby I will feel drowsy.

Tonite at work was uneventful. It was pretty much dead all night. Time to sit and think. I think about C a lot while I am working. I love her so much. If something were to happen to her I would be lost. I don't know what I would do. I plan on spending the rest of my life with her and look forwards to every minute of it. She makes me very happy. She isn't perfect and neither am I. But she is perfect for me.

I don't know if I have told Y'all but I have started sleeping in the bed with her for about the last two months. It use to kill me when I said goodnight to her and went to my chair. It is a great comfort to me to sleep with her in the same bed. I know I don't probably get as good of sleep as I do when I am in my chair, but being with her is worth it. She is so special.

This Friday I go up to the V.A. to talk to them about my surgery. I am a little scared. I am going to try and talk them out of it.

K is doing well. She is doing the summertime thing. Working a lot and spending time with her boyfriend when she can.

Well I am going to check out some more blogs and maby call it a night. A special howdy to Verna and Wendy.

Y'all take care!

Long time from the swamp

Hey Y'all,
I have not posted in awhile cause I have been coming home and going to sleep.

I just got off work a little while ago. C was sitting up when I got here. I got her to give me my insulin shot and then kissed her goodnight. Went in the kitchen and had some left over pizza. Had to fight the cats off. They are up running around the house. Nocturnal kinda like me. I need a shower but I am too wide awake to go in there and get one and lay down. I'll give it a little while till C is good and sound asleep so I won't wake her.

I haven't been doing much. Just the day in and day out living. Work and come home. C and I went out Wednesday night to bike night. We weren't planning on it but we ended up there. Got to see some old friends and brothers from the club.

I am looking forwards to getting Sunday night over with so I can have a day off. Monday C and I are going again to try and find her a ring.

Saw dad today. His girlfriend was there and brought him lunch. We got to visit for awhile. It was nice.

Well Y'all, I think I am going to try and get that shower.

Take care!

Sippin' Ice tea in the swamp

Hey Y'all,
I have slept most of the day away. I don't know why I have been so weary today.

Molly is coming out and being a sweetheart. We have found out that while she doesn't like to be held, she does like long strokes down her back and across her tail. She was jumping up to meet my hand while I was petting her today. I heard her purr for the first time last night. Monkey is laid back and welcomes being held up to my chest and being rubbed down her back and between her ears. She starts purring the minute I pick her up. I am so much happier with the cats than Harley. Our house seems more in order and less tension with them around. The clean up is a lot better too. I know we failed with Harley, but he is at a much happier place for him and we are much happier too.

I didn't make it out to see dad today. I simply felt too rough. I called him around 11 and told him I would make it out tomorrow If he didn't need to see me today. C and I laid back down and slept till about 2:30. We both are just wore out and don't know why.

K has gone to spend the day with her boyfriend. I have to take her shoes to work for her. Last night J came over and we played Yahtzee till he had to go home. It was good family time. C and I really enjoyed it.

Well Y'all I am going to go see what C is up to and relax some more before I have to get moving.

Y'all take care now ya hear?

A day off in the swamp

Hey Folks!
I am enjoying another day off. I have decided to spend the day relaxing. I got out of the house for a little while so K and I could go to dairy queen for lunch. C is laying down and doesn't want anything.

C had a job interview this morning. They have to do a background check and review their other candidates. We should know something in a week or so. It has crazy hours that she would be working, but right now we are desperate.

We had animal control out to the house today. A stray pit bull dog had taken up in our shed. Mangy looking and malnourished. The guy from animal control said it looks like she had been fought. We have a lot of blacks in our neighborhood and they are into that. Animal control took her off. Maby she will at least get fed.

Yesterday at my brothers went well. Everybody seems to be doing fine. I fell asleep on the couch and got my picture took. Dad seemed to be enjoying himself. K got to meet all my brothers and my sister in laws. C had a good time but was wore out by the time it was all over. We ate good. K got her first taste of Brunswick stew.

Monkey and Molly are doin' fine. They are sleeping in the dog bed we still have right now. They like that thing. Monkey the bob tail will purr when you pet her but Molly hasn't warmed up yet. She is not scared when somebody walks by anymore, but doesn't like to be held. Monkey on the other hand loves attention. Molly loves to chase her rattle balls around the house. Molly was visiting us in the bedroom last night before going to bed and has found a new fascination- the ceiling fan. It's funny to watch her. In the picture Molly is on the left and Monkey is on the right. They are on the couch.

Well that's about it for now.
Y'all take care!!

C's post from the swamp

Hey all , some how I have gotten talked into typing tonight's installment of

"As The Swamp Turns"

Cornbread is still having pains in his belly, but refuses to go to the VA YET.
All his brothers are in town for fathers day and he does not want to miss the festivities.
It has been a year since all the brothers have been together. This will be the first time K has
met all the family. I have decided if he is not feeling better by Sunday night I will hog tie him
and take him to the VA. What is it with men that they have to be so stubborn.

We have found a great home for Harley. He went to live with our friends B & B who have a big fenced in yard. He can run to his hearts content. They have an older dog that Harley is trying to convince to play but the other dog just lays around while Harley does laps around him LOL.

We now have adopted Molly and Monkey from our local shelter. They are sisters and Monkey is a BOB Tail Cat. Untill I moved to GA I had never seen a cat with no tail. We had to take them to the groomers to have a Flea dip cause as you would expect they had fleas from the pound. We are having to take them back for a 2nd dip as we have seen a few live fleas and do not want the house to be infested.

K is doing well and is growing up so fast. I have to say that I am blessed to have found a man like Cornbread that is so good with her. He and she love each other like they were Blood Father and Daughter. We have a suprise for him on fathers day but as he is sitting right next to me I will have to let him tell all on a future post.

I am still looking for a job and have a promising interview on Monday so keep us in your prayers .
Well time to close for this post God Bless and stay safe

Harley the dog and two new kittens

Hey Y'all,
We gave Harley away. Twice. My friend from another club came and got him. Took him home for about a hour and a half and called me. He said he couldn't handle him cause he was too hyper and chewed his coffee table. Back he came. I found another friend to take him. We took him over today.

Later on today we stopped by animal control and picked up two new flea ridden kittens. We took them directly to the groomers and had them bathed and the fleas killed. We got them home and let them in the house thinking they would use the litter box cause that's what they were use to at the pound. Wrong again. Little bastards shit all over the place. Now we have them in the laundry room hoping they will go in the litter box. What did I get myself into? Again. I keep telling myself it will be alright.

Both of them are orange and one has a bob tail. They are cute but a Little skidish right now. K named the one with a bob tail "monkey" cause he likes to crawl all over everything. We have not named the other one, but I suggested "Molly". The both are females.

C got turned down on her job interview. They chose the other candidate. She continues her quest.

We got our grass mowed today. It looks nice.

My brothers are all coming into town this weekend. We are going to get together Sunday at my brothers house that lives here. Dad is coming out as well as his girlfriend and my aunt and uncle. It will be a good time. K has to work a double Sunday so she won't be able to make it. Her mother and I really wanted her to be there, but that's the breaks.

Well Y'all take care!

Swamp bites

Hey Y'all,
C is taking a nap right now. I had a minute or two, so what better thing than to update my blog!

This weekend the club had a poker run. it turned out great but was terribly hot. 100 degree temps. I didn't stay that long and stayed in the A/C as much as possible.

C had a job interview this morning and is supposed to know something by this afternoon.

We are giving Harley away. A friend from another club says he wants him. He is going to a good home. He is supposed to call me this afternoon.

I am doing O.K. The usual aches and pains. I am taking my antibiotics and being a good boy. I got my blood sugar down to 151 last night with insulin and pills.

K's boyfriend is on restriction right now but sneaks off from the house every now and then to see her. He is here right now. It's rough being a teenager in love.

K is doing well. Working hard at her job. She is having a girlfriend over for a sleepover tonight.

Well Y'all, K is hungry and wants to go to dairy queen for lunch. I guess I better get off here and find us a bite to eat.

Y'all take care!

Catchin' up at the swamp

Hey Y'all!!
I've been away and not on the computer much as has been the trend lately. Monday I went up to the V.A. and was admitted to the hospital again. My diverticulitis had flared up. I have to go back up there on the 27th to meet with the surgery dept. They want to take out part of my colon. If they do take out part of my colon I will be out of work for 2 months. I am just going up there to talk to them on the 27th. I don't know when or if the surgery will be scheduled. If I am out of work for two months I don't know how the bills will get paid and C is still not working.
A friend of mine who works at the harley shop suggested having a poker run. I don't know what we will do yet.

C is gone to fill out a application for a job and I am supposed to be napping. I was asleep when the phone rang and woke me up. I had a little time so I decided I would come in here and update my blog.

Y'all take care!!

Nakie in the swamp

Hey Y'all!
K has gone to work, C is taking a nap and I am running around the house naked as a jay bird. Man it's great!

We did find a wedding band for me about a week or two ago. I lose track of time. It's titanium with a row of small diamonds on the top. We got a great deal from a jewelry store that is going out of business. 70% off. Got home looked it up on eBay and found out we could have got basically the same ring for even less than we paid. Oh well the advantage of buying jewelry from a jewelry store is I can actually try it on, know it fits right and looks good. Every night when I come home I wear it around the house and to bed. C thinks it's the funniest thing. She won't let me and I don't want to wear it out in public. I'll save that for when we get married.

Work is going fine. I am enjoying my job. It will be hard to leave there when I find a better job that more suites my schedule. I love that place and the people. Once you get to working in the bar life it's hard to get it out of your blood. That's all I have known in the past and for the last two years.

C is still hard at it looking for employment. Hopefully something will turn up soon. She has been a little discouraged because she has put in so much time and effort and nothing has come about yet.

Yesterday the club rode out to a poker run in my home town and made a donation to their cause. I got to see a lot of people I have not seen in awhile. It was nice. I came back home, got a shower and laid down for awhile before I had to go to work last night.

Well Y'all I don't know of much. It's hot down here already. Wonder what July and August will be like.

Take care!
