Is it friday already?

Hey Y'all!
I realized today when pheonix http://his-phoenix.blogspot.com/left me a comment, It's been awhile since I have posted! I have been busy mostly up into the wee hours of the morning. I went out to my club brothers bar wednesday night and visited with the boss and Mama and our probates showed up as well. Thursday I made the trip up to the V.A. to get blood drawn and then thursday night I ended up with the boss going to various clubhouses and one of the bars we frequent. I have been having a good time but when I have been on the 'puter I have not felt like posting or haven't been on it much.

Today isa beutifull day and really warm. I should be out riding right now, but I fired up the 'puter to make some changes to my resume and I saw the comment pheonix left and I coulden't just leave my blog undone. Later on since it is so nice I am going to take the bike outta town to my club brothers bar and hang out for a bit. The weekend is here and I will be busy again. Saturday I am getting my truck washed and then later on going to a party. The bar I was working the door at off and on is closing it's doors. It's something ya get used to dealing with the bars. Sunday I got a poker run to attend.

It is the start of the busy season for me with the weather changing. There is always something going on it seems. My calender is already filled thru april into may. I don't see how I had time to work before. Life is good. right now I have a break but soon as I find a job, I will be streched out to the max again.

Well, y'all take care? Can I get a big 10-4 on that?

Parts is parts

Hey Y'all!
Went with my relation brother today to pick up his bike from the harley stealership. He paid a pretty penny for it but he got him some new pipes with a little more rumble in them. He got the screamin eagle slip on mufflers a SE air cleaner kit and got the fuel injection remapped. His bike sounds good and he had a shit eatin grin on his face when we pulled up to his house. (I was following in the truck) He wasn't able to get the harley oil cooler he wanted put on because of the way the crash bars are mounted and is gonna hafta go to the aftermarket to find one.

Ya know sometimes life can get bad and there is no way outta it. But often if we find ourselves unhappy in life there is a future and a hope. Don't ever stop dreamin' about what you would like and what would make ya happy. Sometimes it comes true even if it is not within our time frame we have in mind. I have to remind my self of that.

I have always loved bikes from the time since I was a kid till now. Those days when I had 10 bucks and a choice of wheather to put food on my table or gas in my beat up ol' truck for a week (gas was alot cheaper then) I never thought I would be riding a bike much less a harley. It was just beyond my scope of life. Did I want a bike then? Hell yes! Now time has passed and alot of things have changed and things worked out. I just hope I can hold on to my standard of living like it is right now for some time to come. Life is constantly changing. I am still humble and remember where I have come from. Often it is the hard times that build character.

Well Ya'll take care and catch ya on the flipside!

lazy day monday

Hey Y'all!
Shure hope everyone is doin' well as this week gets started. Me? I've kinda been lazy today. Me and dad did the waffle house thing, then I put some stuff in the mail and went and put in another aplication for work. Other than going for dinner tonight and bringing it back home, (dad had a bar-b-que chicken sandwich and I had sushi) I have done nothing but nap in the computer chair and get up every now and then to smoke cigarettes. Did make a few phone calls today to talk to some of my brothers in the club. I kinda like this unemployed thing.

Found out this weekend we have a run to go to. More could develope as the week progresses. One never knows in the MC world. I am looking forwards to the run. Hopefully it will be a little warmer next weekend.

Dad is still sick with his cold and sounds terrible. I am hoping soon he will take a turn for the better and start getting well. I am hoping I don't get it too.

Hope your week is grand!

I've been busy!

Hey Y'all
I havent posted since friday because I have been on the go! Friday night we had chuch and saturday was the birthday party. There was some drunk people and all but we were relaxing. It was a good time. Today we went ona poker run and while we riding I ran across my relation brother who was riding on it with my sister in law. I was the tail gunner today (the guy who rides the back of the pack to make shure everything is O.K.) My sister inlaw piled on the bike with me since she doesn't feel comfortable riding two-up with my relation brother ina pack. It was fun.

After it was over me and the Boss picked up Mama and went around to some of the clubhouses. It was after dark when we got thru and I have about a hour ride home. I was a popsicle by the time I got home. I was freezing my ass off! I went and got me a dad a pizza and warmed up. Right now I only go outside for a few minutes every now and then to smoke a cigarette. Damn this cold weather!

Dad has a cold by the way. He had one earlier, but was getting over it. His girlfriend has a cold and is taking antibiotics. I think dad musta picked her cold up. His nose is running and he sounds horse and is wheezing and coughing. Poor guy. Hope he gets better soon!

Well, take care and do have a great week, O.K.?

Weary, but still ready to party!

I am back on the vampire hours again it seems. Wednesday night I did my usual run to my club brothers bar and stayed out till after 3am. The sun was starting to come up when I was going to bed. Had a good time though. The boss and Mama showed up and we all sat around having fun. Last night I went out to a bar and then one of the clubhouses with the boss and Mama. It was a good time. I have got to see them alot this week which is a treat.

Tonight is church and tommorow is a birthday party and the sunday isa run. It has been covienint for me being outta work so I can go to all these things. At least I can sleep a little without having to be tied up with work. One day it will come to a end, so I am enjoying it while I can.

I hope everyone's weekend is great!

Your my drivin' wheel

Do you like my drivers license pic? I think their cameras sometimes lies.

Well I got out and did a little running around town today. Visited alot of the bike shops in town. And yes I got a long nap here in the computer chair. The above pic is of course not me. Thats just ol' Cornbread pullin' yore leg. I did make it out to the state patrol and got my license. Since I got the veterens license, mine won't expire till the year 2032. I thought the lady was crazy or there was a mistake. It seems to be a new thing. Veterens licenses don't expire untill the vet turns 65 now. Cool with me. I have always hated going down there and standing in that long line anyway.

Speakin of licences have I ever told the story about how I got my motorcycle license years ago when I was about 17? I had a yamaha RD 350 and was riding it around ileagaly since I didn't have a license. Well ol' cornbreads consience started botherng me about it so I rode out to the state patrol to get a license. I wanted to be legal. I got out there and the lady (there was only one at the time) had me go on this driving course. There was a whole lotta stuff I was supposed to do. She started me off by watching me stop and make a left turn. Then she looks in the parking lot and sees it empty. With her hand on her hip and her clipboard in her hand she asks me: "did you ride the bike out here"? She almost sounded disgusted. I kinda looked at the ground and said "yes mam I did." Next thing I know she is writing something on her clipboard and I just knew I was in for it. She hands me this reciept and tells me: "your license will be in the mail." didin't even make me finish doin' the riding course or anything. Course ya gotta remember this was in the 80's and things were alot different back then.

Y'all take care! Rubber side down!

~This and that~

Saw this cartoon and thought it was funny!

Hope everyone is well! The most productive thing I have done today is go to the local V.A. office and get the form to go to the drivers license place and get my free vets license. Will be heading out there tommorow. Don't ya hate drivers license pictures? Mine looks hideous and I can't wait to get it changed!

It was a little cool today, so I didn't make it out on the bike any. Tommorow is supposed to be rain, so it may be a few days when I actually get to ride. Me and dad met my brother and sis inlaw for dinner tonight at longhorns. Mt brother wants to make a outta town run to go to a harley shop kinda north of here. It will be a all day affair, but should be fun. We are planning on doin' it thursday if everything is right.

Well I guess no news is good news. Life is chuggin' along. I still ain't got no job and I'm living on savings right now. Thats why I put money away when I am working. Been at this game too long and know what it's like to suddenly be without a income. Something will come along when the time is right. I can feel it in my bones.

Y'all take care now, Ya hear?

Sleepy Sunday

Hey Y'all
Man today has been nap day for Cornbread. I napped almost the whole day away here sitting in the 'puter chair! I am wore out from this weekend. We did our fun run friday night and saturday went to the St. Patts party. We had brothers in from outta town. All in all it was a good time!

Not shure what this week will bring. Loooking forwards to it though.

My bike was horribly filthy and the bosses oldest son needed some bucks so we worked out a deal. I gave him 20 bucks and he washed my bike. Did a damn fine job too! I think I'm gonna take my truck to him next!

Hope everybody has a great week and here's wishin' Windfall Woman a speedy recovery! http://www.windfallwoman.blogspot.com/

Y'all take care!

Weekends here! St pattys day party has just begun!

Hey Y'all!
Today was a marathon day. Rode up the road to the V.A. and saw the doctor. Flew down the hiway back home, choked down a sandwich and then it was down the road further to meet up with a bunch of my brothers for a run. Ended up at one of the other clubs house and now I am back home and it's after 3am in the morning. I gotta get up tommorow and do some things around town and then meet up with my brothers to go to a St. patty's party that started tonight and will be going all weekend. It promises to be a fun weekend. I shure am getting alot of riding time in on the bike!

Well I'm offa here to get a shower and some sleep! Catch up with everybody when it slows down. For some reason the song "call me the breeze" done by lynrnd Skynrd comes to mind!

Take Care!

Back to town

Howdy Y'all,
Yep I'm back and already my week (what's left of it) is getting busy. Tommorow I am off to the V.A. for another appointment and this weekend will be busy with the club from friday night on.

I did have a paticular good treat when I came back home. In stead of comming to the house last night when I got off the road I went strait to my club brothers bar. The boss and Mama and one of our probates showed up. It was really good for my soul to see them first upon returning to my own backyard. There is no place like home and being around the people ya love. Besides my club brother who owns the bar has a Korean wife and boy, she can cook! I walked in the door and had a big plate of food sitting in front of me. I don't know the correct name for it all, But I can tell ya that it was some mighty fine vittles! I'm kinda jonesin for some right now!

Me and dad are going to our fav-o-rite sea food place a little later on. I got clothes in the washer right now and still got more to do. I didn't make it up till after 2 pm when I heard the landscapers mowing our grass. I am back home and feel like I have hit the floor running!

Headin' Home

Hey Y'all,
When most of you read this I will be headin' home. It's early in the am right now. I hafta get some sleep before I get on the road.

I have had a good time here, but I am ready to get back home. I'm kinda jonesin' to be around my family, club and otherwise. They say home is where the heart is. My heart is back up there in georgia.

Well, this one isa short one tonight cause I don't know quite what to say, it's late and I need a shower and some rest.

Y'all take care!

It's party time!

Hey Y'all!
I am writing from beutifull sunny florida! Went and hung out with the brothers near daytona and had a great time. I was able to just relax and be cornbread. No duties or anything. It was great to see my patchholding brothers, some I haven't seen for months.

After we left the clubhouse some of the brothers and me headed for the cabbage patch. Had a great time seeing the sights. In the middle of the cabbage patch they had a crane that they lifted jap bikes up about 50 feet in the air. The bikes were running with no oil in them and reved up kinda high. They would run them till they blew up way up there in the air. It was cool as shit! Then they started hoisting them back up and dropping them to the ground untill they were compleatly destroyed. Good time biker fun. We missed the coleslaw wrestling. I think that was on wednesday night.

Right now I am staying at one of the brothers who I have known for many years. Me and him are tired out and just rolled in a little while ago. Don't know if I will post tommorow or not. Depends on how I feel and what I am doin'. Just had to tell ya about those jap bikes at the cabbage patch though! :0)

Y'all take care!

The week will soon be done

The above pic reminded me of where I usta work.

Well I slept most of the day away today. Couldn't seem to make it outta bed till after 2:30 this afternoon. Oh well it's all good. Just another day of relaxation. I am kinda looking at this job situation as a extended vacation untill I find another job. I am not spending my days worried or in dispair. I am enjoying myself!

Everything still looks like a go ahead to go to florida this weekend. I am very much looking forwards to it. Tommorow night is church, so I will get to see some of my brothers again.

Today was nice down here, but since I slept so much I never made it out for a ride. It's o.k. cause today I feel at peace with myself. Just one of those days when the world don't seem to matter and my troubles aren't weighing on my mind. I like days like today.

A good day and good memories

Hey Y'all!
Today was a good day as far as I am concerned. Got out on the bike and went to the seed store and put in a order for a new set of overalls. Mine are kinda jumbo sized and they can order them from there. Yep in georgia you go to the seed and feed store to buy clothes sometimes. Did a little riding out in the country and made it back home. Went and visitied my V.P. and his wife tonight and then went ot my club brothers bar and hung out. Our probates stopped by and we had a good time chatting, Now I'm back home.

On my last post my buddy from the navy, woogaus brought up a old memory when he left a comment. We were in hawaii and had stopped in one of those boutique harley stores. You know the kind that sell harley fashion clothes and stuff. No bikes. When we walked in the guy behind the counter was scared shitless of us and you could tell cause he was real nervous and was hiding in the back and peeping around the corner at us. I know you all don't know what woogaus and I look like, but even when we were in the navy we were into the biker scene and dressed the part. You see woogaus and me were running partners, drinking buddies. There are some stories we could tell ya that are quite fun. But I digress

While Me and woogaus was in the harley boutique store, people would stop and look in the store and you could tell they wern't interested untill they caught sight of us. Before me and him had been in there we were outside smoking cigarettes and people would just walk up to the store, look thru the window and leave. After me and him were inside they would come up to the window, look inside see us and would come in. Pretty soon the store started to fill up and the little guy behind the counter finnaly came out of hiding. I think we brought him some buisness that night just by being there and looking like we did.

While we were there woogaus bought one of those chain driven wallets (I thought he paid too much for it there) and gave me the chain off it to put on my wallet. He had bought a fancy chain to go on his new wallet. Ya know I still have that chain he gave me on my wallet today. Fact I'm wearin' it right now. It's been thru hell, been busted and repaired. The leather peice on it looks wore out, But I woulden't trade it for anything.

Yea good memories.

Relaxing day and rant about bike week

Hey y'all
Today isa take it easy day so far. Got the truck down to the ford place to get the oil changed. The guy who did the work is the former wrench from the bike shop I use. He works for the ford place now. Shure hope he tightened everything up on my truck. He had a bad habit of leaving things loose on my bike when I usta take it to him. He's a good guy though.

Drove down to the bike shop and hung out for awhile this afternoon. It was relaxing sitting around and shooting the shit with the owner. It's always nice to sit down with other bikers and just relax and talk.

This weekend I am going down to florida and hang out with some of the brothers down there. My best friend down there is the president of a chapter of my club where I usta live. Gonna go spend some time with him and hang out. Maby get to see some of my old friends. It's gonna be nice. It's the last weekend of bike week, but I ain't planning on going to daytona beach. I avoid that place durring bike week. Too many tourist and the cops turn into nazi's when bike week comes along. I ain't even gonna take the bike cause the noise police are out in force and I have loud pipes. REALLY LOUD pipes. It's a ticket waiting to happen durring bike week.

It's a shame that bike week comes along and alot of the bars/buisnesses don't want colors in there cause it scares people and there is the occaisonal asshole who want's to prove himself by starting something with a patchholder. Alot of the places want our money durring the rest of the year but want us to stay out durring bike week so the tourist aren't offended. I find that offensive. I will not do buisness anytime with places that keep that practice up. Also durring bike week everything gets more expensive than the rest of the year. I find that offensive. Charge the same price all year long instead of gouging people who just wanna have a good time. It all revolves around money instead of what it's supposed to. Bikers comming together to socialize and party and hang out. It is a good thing that there are more mainstream people now involved with the motorcycle world, but there is a downfall to it, which is the bloodsuckers comming out to get as much of that potential cash from people that are involved in the motorcycle world. And that includes the cops too. They make alot of money off bike week too. They don't call it PAYtona for nuthin'!

I find it all so offensive, I just stay away and will go party with my brothers down there outside of daytona and enjoy what being a biker and a brother and righteousness is all about.

I'll get off my soapbox now. Y'all take care!

Good days and such

Hey Y'all!
Sittin' here at the house waitin for my (relation) brother to call when he gets home. I got out some today. Made it by the bank today and out to the county line liquor store. Took the bike since it was nice out. Walked into the bank wearin my cut (vest with club patches on it) and forgot I have a big ol' K-bar knife that is laced to the side of it. Nobody said anything about it though. I forgot till I was already inside, so I figured screw it. I'll just do my buisness and leave. I guess thats one of the good things about being a regular customer ina small town bank. They recognize me. If it had been anywhere else, I probably would have been in trouble for bringing a weapon ina bank. oops!

Shure will be glad when easter gets here. I am not wanting to go to church or anything. It's just that I know after easter gets here, the weather will be nice, even at night. That means alot more time on the bike. I'll enjoy that. At least I ain't like my ol' navy buddy woogaus http://www.woogaus.blogspot.com/ All snowed in!

Wore slap out

Hey Y'all!
Just got in from the weekend long party. I had been comming home to sleep instead of camping out down there. Haven't really had no time on the 'puter.

This weekend was fun I got to relax some and was busy working the rest of the time. Gotta take care of my club family. Security for the club is a priority durring these events. We had fun grilling and selling food. Got to see brothers from outta town which was cool. Got to see some titties at the wet t-shirt contest.

Now I am tired. Just got thru with a big plate of fried chicken from KFC. Thinkin' about takin' a nap. I feel wilted. Not much sleep this weekend.

Y'all take care!

Party Tommorow and all weekend!

Hey Y'all!
Yep tommorow we start getting ready to set up for the party this weekend. I have already been getting calls this evening. I gotta be at my V.P.'s house at 8am to load up fire wood. then it's off to the party site to set up our compound. It promises to be a wild weekend.

I think hanging out this weekend will lift my spirits a little. I will be busy since I am part of the security team. I drink only a little and probably won't be drinking any this weekend. It kinda sucks that I can't relax and just enjoy myself, but I have never been much of a drinker anyway. I quit doin' my thing a few years back which was smoking reefer. Ol Cornbread don't get to have that release like everybody else does. I kinda envy my brothers who drink, But I guess I get my kicks watching out for them. Natural highs are about all I get nowdays. I guess that makes me the workhorse and in someways the outcast. But It's all good.

Ya know often I write on here about about being up or down with life. There is a reason I do that. So often the general public see's bikers and especially patch holding bikers as some sort of anomily or maby as someone super human and often as someone who is substandard. It's like the average joe don't know how to take us or takes us wrong. I like to write to let people know that hey we are just people like everybody else. We are human. We have good days and bad. Do good things and sometimes bad. I just try to be real. Thats all I ask of other people, so thats what I ask of myself.

Oh well I just felt I needed to say that. There are many of you who are informed, but everyday I deal with people who are not. especially when I wear my colors. (vest with club afiliation patches on back)

Well Y'all take care and rubber side down!

Late one

Hey Y'all!
It's like 2:45 in the morning. I just got in a little while ago. Still gotta get my shower and go to bed. Tommorow morning I have a appointment at 9:30 sharp. UGH!

Tonight I was out at my club brothers bar hangin' out with some of the brothers and our prospect. The boss and Mama were there. I have been kinda down in the dumps the last few days and feelin' depressed. I did get out a ride some today and it was nice, but didn't help any. Maby I had become saratonin (spelling) deficiant. I dunno. I hate being in a tailspin like that. Well tonight I feel like all that has gone away. I was kinda ho hum till I got to sit down and visit with the boss and mama and my brothers. Now I feel like I got my peace back. It's funny how just a few words or a touch of a hand can make someone totally change how they are feelin' inside.

It's life and we live it day to day. Some days are good and others bad. As a old friend of mine usta say: "taint nutin' butta ting" (ain't nothing but a thing)

Shure hope your day is going well!
